Mature plants endure temperatures to 18 degrees F, but containerized younger plants will not tolerate freezing temperatures. need sun, well-drained soil and frequent deep watering when grown outside. Trunks are single at first, later sparsely branched with clusters of leaves at ends of branches. They do exceptionally well as indoor plants when given good light and not over watered.
