Butia capitata
The fruit is edible and grows in Zones 8-10. It is a slow grower and reaches 15 to 20 feet in height, and takes moderate to full sun. Can take temperatures down to 8 degrees F. They make jelly from the fruit of the palm that surrounds the seed. It has light gray/silverish looking palm fronds, and makes a wonderful palm for the landscape.
