This is the most widely cultivated of the cycads and the most popular. Does well indoors and outdoors in Zones 8-11.Most people call this a palm, but it is a cycad. I have seen them in the botanical gardens in Washington D.C., and they can be conditioned to take cold winters. Moderate to full sun is needed and it will freeze if not protected, however most of the time it comes back with new fronds when no winterization is done. The fronds are glossy and deep green in color.
